The state of Utah recognizes the Department of Transportation NEMSES (National Emergency Medical Services Educational Standards as basis for educational programs and certification of all levels of EMT. Utah no uses the NREMT Cognitive Exam as the certifying exam.
Test preparation for the NREMT, NRAEMT or the EMT Paramedic Exams is essential. It is advised to study like materials for at least a couple of weeks prior to the exam. Utah will recognize the EMT license or certification from another state as well as certification from the National Registry as basis for reciprocity as long as the other certification criteria have been met.
