In order to become a licensed EMT in the state of Missouri you must first pass a state accredited EMT training institution course that complies with the D.O.T. EMT curriculum. Upon completion of the accredited course you must pass the Missouri State EMT Practical Exam. This exam will test your hands on ability and consist of multiple stations involving varied scenarios in Medical and Trauma.
When the practical EMT or Paramedic exam is completed the EMT or Paramedic candidate will be authorized to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician's Exam (NREMT). You must pass the NREMT and become certified prior to requesting EMT licensure in Missouri. The exam is computer based and administered at various exam centers in Missouri.
