Initial educational requirements are based upon the Department of Transportation Curriculum for EMTs. You must have completed an accredited EMT course prior to requesting a testing date.

Here is the EMT certification application for all levels of EMS personnel. Use this form to apply for any of the 12 different levels of EMS certification. You must have a current West Virginia EMT Certification Card before you can legally practice as an EMT. Again this can only be filled out and submitted once you have passed the NREMT exam. A listing of National Registry testing sites in the state of West Virginia can be found here, WV NREMT Test Sites. All NREMT tests are now given at a Pearson Vue testing center throughout the state. All EMT National Registry exams are administered through a computer based testing application for measuring the aptitude of the EMT candidate.

An excellent way to get ready for the National Registry exam is to practice the NREMT practice tests that are available here on EMT-National-Training.com. Practice anytime 24/7 for your EMT or Paramedic exams with our database of over 2,600 questions. Accessible over the internet from any computer with a connection to the web, these EMT practice tests were created to help you become familiar with the format of the real NREMT exam (National Registry). If you have any questions about the material you can consult one of the Paramedics or EMT's that are on staff at the helpdesk. With over forty years of experience in pre-hospital patient management, the Paramedic and EMT professionals who answer your questions have the knowledge to help clarify any confusion you may be having with current protocols or changes in the AHA CPR and AED guidelines.
