Application for EMT Certification in Utah - PDF file to print out and return to the Department of Health.

The state of Utah recognizes the Department of Transportation EMT B National Standard Curriculum as basis for educational programs and certification of all levels of EMT. Utah administers its own EMT and Paramedic exams as well as employing various testing companies. If you take the computer based exam your results will be available immediately upon completing the examination. If you take the actual written and practical exam your results will be mailed to you within 2 weeks. Utah is one of the few states who conducts their own EMT testing online.

Utah will recognize the EMT license or certification from another state as well as certification from the National Registry as basis for reciprocity as long as the other certification criteria have been met. Here is the Utah EMT Reciprocity Checklist to make sure you have all of your information in order.

Everything that has to do with Utah EMT training system or EMT course materials (for all of the levels of EMT) can be found on the Utah EMT Training Page. Any information that you cannot find there can be addressed to either Dennis Bang at dbang@utah.gov / (801)-538-6281 or Travis Scoresby at tscoresby@utah.gov / (801)-538-9133.

Take a look at the Utah EMT B Course Handbook. It details everything the state requires you to know in order to practice as an EMT. These same principles and procedures are covered in the 2000+ EMS practice questions and answers here on EMT National Training. You can use the NREMT practice exams to sharpen your skill for any EMT exam. Exams are accessible from any computer with an internet connection and a web browser. Home, station or office.
