The state of Utah recognizes the Department of Transportation NEMSES (National Emergency Medical Services Educational Standards as basis for educational programs and certification of all levels of EMT. Utah no uses the NREMT Cognitive Exam as the certifying exam.

Test preparation for the NREMT, NRAEMT or the EMT Paramedic Exams is essential. It is advised to study like materials for at least a couple of weeks prior to the exam. EMT National Training provides the ultimate Paramedic and EMT study resource with access to almost 3,500 EMT, AEMT and Paramedic multiple choice questions that you can use to sharpen your skills and become familiar with taking exams on the computer.

Utah will recognize the EMT license or certification from another state as well as certification from the National Registry as basis for reciprocity as long as the other certification criteria have been met.
