Licensed EMT's in New Hampshire must pass both the written and the practical NREMT exam. Both exams must be completed after the EMT candidate has completed an accredited EMS course. The National Registry Exam is now given by a private testing company that supplies the test within a computer based program. The length of the computer based test is not specified. The EMT candidate will answer questions one by one until the application has determined that the test taker has either passed or failed. This can be accomplished in as few as 70 questions or as many as 150. There is no percentage score given at the end of the EMT test, but you may be given preliminary results at the testing center.

Once the courses and NREMT tests have been completed and you have received your certification documentation from the National Registry you may complete and submit a New Hampshire EMS Provider Application. This license application is free and will need to be submitted with a legible photocopy of your NREMT card. All other licensing requirements for certification must be met prior to final authorization. You must send a copy of your CPR certification card to the New Hampshire Bureau of EMS. No Fax copies will be accepted.
