So I passed my NREMT last week with a 91% total. I couldn't believe that was really the Nationally Registry test that everyone dreads taking. Is it just me or is it hyped up to be much harder than it really is? I literally left the building in disbelief thinking that can't really be it. I'm in no way an arrogant person but that was ridiculous. Everyone who puts in any kind of effort can pass it and if you can't... probably time to consider a different career path.. just my 2 cents.

How do you know you got a 91 percent? Mine was just pass or fail.

I passed and had never felt more like I failed a test when I was leaving after taking it. It also gave me no idea of what I got and it just told me that I passed.

Pearson VUE and the Registry are making a mint off of us, the test is like a slot machine, you put your $100 token in and take your chances, some win (pass), some loose (fail). They will not explain your results or offer study material. If they did not charge for retest I wouldn't think it was a scam, but they do and they are making millions. For a $100 bucks we have the right to know why we missed what we missed...........they don't have to give their test questions away just rationalize your answers. The test is ridiculous, I am arrogant and bitter, but I really am glad you passed, you beat them!

I would be inclined to agree with you but for one fact. That is as an instructor I have prepared my students for how this test is constructed, delivered, and how to understand what the questions are really asking. My student pass rate is currently 100% for the past year (which covers 3 classes). I don't expect it to stay at 100% but I know it will always be very close to that. This is a failure on the part of most EMT class instructors in my opinion. They don't understand or care to research how this style of test is made and so they fail to give their students the best possible tools to succeed. That is why this website has a very lengthy page devoted to how the NREMT test is constructed, delivered, and questions created. We want to share this 'not secret' information with as many NREMT candidates as possible. You can access it from the home page on the right hand side of the screen by clicking on 'NREMT Test'.
I'm sorry you didn't pass, but don't let your anger at the 'system' prevent you from succeeding on the test next time. Use this site, and study on how to TAKE the test more than all the info in your book. I bet you have all of that info stored in your head and you only need to be able to understand what the question is really asking. Keep us posted and drop a help desk ticket anytime you want to discuss a question, concern, or anything.
