Hi,
I just took my first EMTB national test last week and found that I have failed,,,

This is very frustrating and scary because I have no idea where i got it wrong...

I want to ask those who have taken this test more than once to pass.

First, I wanted to know if same questions will be repeated when you retake the test.
(I stopped at 120 questions btw)

Although I cannot recall the questions word by word, I can still remember the format and the style of the questions in detail.

When I stimulated the exams on this website, I noticed the questions arnt that similar to what I took.

Actually the Demo 10 questions were most similar to what I took..
I noticed, they don't really ask vocab or factual questions; Instead they asked Situational questions 95% of the time....(this is why Im worried...)
Any advise on other resources to use or prep this test in more efficient way?

Thank you for your help

How many practice questions did you do over what period of time?

I just retook my nremtp and passed it. this site was minimally helpful in regards to prep. Now that you know that test is a lot of scenario based questions use this site(since you have already paid) as one tool not as the definitive tool they claim to be. By taking the test you can find out what areas you need to go back and reread. this site simulated nremt test do seem to be somewhat helpful

Go to your local or school's library and check out a couple of the EMT Test Prep books. I've been preparing for my NREMTB for a few weeks now with this site and 3 books (Barron's, Learning Express, Kaplan). They each ask questions slightly differently but cover the same material. It might be helpful. Good luck!

No, the questions will not be the same. They have a huge bank of questions they draw from. Some might be similar as they are testing your Basic knowledge but it is doubtful that you will see the exact same questions.

The test is going to be different each time you take the written.
Testing is completely random.

This is a very good site. You could take practice tests here.
You can also read about how the tests are put together. They explain it very well.
The tests have different categories. Such as O.B. Trauma, Medical and such.
What ever you think you had the most of...Is probably what you did the worst at.
The computor based tests have a brain. If you get a question wrong in 1 category
the computor will give you more of that category until it is satisfied that you know your stuff.

NREMT Basic Exam Question Topics Percentage of questions on NREMT Exam
Airway and Breathing 18.0%
Cardiology 17.3%
Trauma 16.7%
Medical 15.3%
Obstetrics and Pediatrics 16.0%
Operations 16.7%
Total 100%

I am a Wisconsin state evaluator and EMT Instuctor.
Hope this was some help.

Also DO NOT over think your answers. Usually your first answer is the right one.
